These distractions can cost you a lot of time and money lost if you don’t get it under control. You have to make the important things important and the things that you can put on the back burner until later. As a business owner you have to learn how to get a hold of these distractions so they will not get in your way while you are trying to make a living. Let’s look at some ways to stay focused while running your business.
Tip #1- Keep your Game Plan in Action!
The number one reason you went into business for yourself was to be at home with your family. You can’t do this if you are being distracted by your family and everyday issues that you have to deal with at home. You have to keep your game plan in action and stay focused on the long term goal of why you went into business for yourself. Doing these can save the heart ached of your failed business down the road.
Tip #2- This is not a job
Remember that this is not a J-O-B so you are not working for anyone but Y-O-U. You have to remember this because whether you are at home for 8 hours or not does not mean that you will get a paycheck on Friday, especially if you did not get any work done. This is a good thing to keep in mind to keep you focused and determined.
Tip #3- Set Daily/Weekly Goals
Setting goals is a great way to keep you focused and grounded while running your business. Goals are going to be the benchmark if getting accomplished your many daily activities that you have set for yourself. Daily goals need to be focused on what is needed to be done for that day. If you get done with that goal you can move to the next days goal to get that accomplished so you can be ahead of the game. If you find yourself completing your daily goals sooner than anticipated, you will need to add more goals for the day. Your weekly goals are the same way. You want to make sure that you are setting your goals each and every day/week so as to keep you grounded in running your business.
Tip #4- Take a Small Break
Nobody said that running your business would be easy and it is not. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, so much so that you can become drained in your daily activities. You do not want this happen so you will need to take a small break. You don’t have to work every single day at your business because you don’t want to wear yourself out. Take a day or two off to recoup and get back on your feet. You will need all the energy you have to keep your business up and running smoothly.
